Verify from services menu does not work

Reported by Will Yager | July 27th, 2012 @ 08:41 AM | in 1.8 (closed)

When I try to use the "OpenPGP: Verify" service from the Services menu or the contextual menu, it fails with the message "Verification failed. No signatures found within the selection."

However, when I copy and paste the exact same text and check it with gpg --verify, it works perfectly.

I think at some point recently I may have stumbled over one of the devs saying that this was an issue with the way OS X terminates lines. Is this correct? If so, from looking at the source code, it seems as though there is a facility where if no signatures are found, the line terminators are stripped and replaced correctly. Is this not part of the most recent stable build?
