error whne trying to decrypt message
Reported by bob | March 12th, 2012 @ 01:08 AM
The “OpenPGP: Decrypt” service could not be used because the “GPGServices” application did not respond to a request for services.Try reopening “GPGServices,” or contact the vendor for an updated version.
keeps happening when I try to decrypt a message that has been encrypted using my public key..
It was working fine 2 days ago, all of a sudden today it stops working. Im on 10.6.8 using Version 1.0b6 (1.0b6)

Me, too.
We installed GPGTools 1.0b7 under OS X 10.6.8 two days ago. Email decryption works fine, but when we attempt to decrypt selected text, there's a long pause (during which the cursor will move in response to mouse movement, but nothing else happens), followed by a popup announcing:
The “OpenPGP: Decrypt Selection” service could not be used because the “GPGServices” application did not respond to a request for services.
We have tried the "Fix GPGTools" button under GPGPreferences.
I'm trying to coax hesitant people into crypto-land, so I can't insist they upgrade to OS X 10.7.

Hey Bob & Peter,
sorry to hear you are having trouble using GPGTools. Let's try some things to pin down where this problem is coming from.
Could you please visit http://nightly.gpgtools.org/ and download the latest GPGTools_Installer-trunk.dmg file.
Run that on your system and see if the problem persists.
Also for the future please use the support page to post issues. Once we have figured out where the problem is coming from we'll open a ticket on this platform here.
All the best,
steve
Please consider a donation. We do all this in our spare time.
