GPGPreferences cannot remember the Nightly update selection properly

OS X 10.9.2
Reproducibility: always
Steps:
1. System Preferences -> GPGPreferences -> Updates
2. Select “Nightly” on any component.
3. Close System Preferences.
4. System Preferences -> GPGPreferences -> Updates
What happened:
The selection box has a blank selection (see attached
screenshot).
Expected result:
The selection box has “Nightly” selected.
