TImothy, could you give us some more info about your setup: which other tools do you use? Did you run the GPGTools Installer? Since when does this probelem exist? What did you change that caused this or is this your first try to setup mail encryption?

I have the key tool installed, the service package installed, and this one. I did not build from source; so I ran the installer. This problem existed immediately.
Is pineenrty a separate binary that is supposed to be installed? If so, where?

What's "key tool"? Are you referring to GPG Keychain Access?
Also I'm not sure, what you mean by "service package".
"and this one"?
"Installer" = GPGTools Installer?
If you used the GPGTools Installer there shouldn't be any reason to worry about pinentry-mac being installed, because it is included in the installer. Which version of our GPGTools Installer did you use?
Sorry, for asking so many questions, but all this is very important information in order to get an idea, where to look for the problem.
Thanks :)

I refer to GPG Keychain Access.
I refer to the GPGServices package. Both of these are downloaded from the same site as MacGPG2. Which is the 'this one' I refer to. The MacGPG2 web page states that pineentry is included. I have also run the tools installer, with no change in the error message. And, there is no pineentry on my system; hence this ticket.

Maybe it would help if you could reword your issue in this form:

What has lead you to conclude that pinentry is not included?
Please send me the output from
ls -lsa /usr/local/MacGPG2/libexec/

Unfortunately, I did not receive the full text of this report by email.
gpg: problem with the agent: No pinentry gpg: no default secret key: Operation cancelled gpg: signing failed: Operation cancelled
I suspect that you have a specific pinentry option in your ~/.gnupg/gpg-agent.conf file - remove it. MacGPG2 defaults to the correct location and does not need this.
Once removed, run the following in a terminal:
killall gpg-agent
Optionally restart.

There was an entry in gpg-agent.cont; removing it has resolved this issue.
Thanks.
