Key revocation does not work?
Reported by Tim | November 25th, 2011 @ 10:19 AM | in 1.2 (closed)
If I follow the instructions about key revocation on https://github.com/GPGTools/GPGKeychainAccess/wiki/Getting-started, everything works up until dragging the revocation key onto GPG Keychain Access. I am not sure what is supposed to happen, but I cannot verify that my key is revoked anywhere, not in the main view nor in the Key Inspector window.
I have not uploaded the key to the keyserver (nor the revocation certificate). I am not sure if this is required to revoke the key, but I would expect some indication that the key will be revoked after uploading if this is the case.
If this is supposed to work like this, I would suggest adding (more) feedback to the user about the key being revoked or ready to being revoked after uploading to the keyserver.
I am using GPG Keychain Access version Version 1.0b3 (1.0b3).

I am now using version Version 1.0b5, but this version also/still does not seem to revoke keys properly.
The symptoms are identical to what I had earlier when I filed this: I generate a revocation cert (fine), I drag it to my GPG Keychain Access window, the icon shows a green 'plus' sign as if GPG KA is ready to accept the file, and then nothing happens.

Update: when I use gpg --importy from the command-line, both gpg and GPG Keychain Access show my key as revoked, such that I think the revocation cert and my key are (were) both fine.
