  Attempted to download GPG Keychain Access v0.8.10 from website returns: Download request is dropped due to internal error.
  

  I assume a temporary issue at Amazon/Github. The download worked for me. Just in case, the download URL is: http://www.gpgtools.org/keychain/index.html

  I don't experience any issues. maybe a temporary GitHub issue? If you still are having trouble let us know.

  Actually, there are many issues in this ticket to address:

  1. "stated Thunderbird was not installed on the machine". It's not the first time this happend. @blankgm: what is the content of "~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/"?

  2. "Opened Mac Mail (v4.5) crash on startup.". @blankgm: Could you please send us the crash report? See https://github.com/GPGTools/GPGTools/wiki/Troubleshooting

  3. "GPG can't be started! Please check your gpg.conf". @Mento: any idea?

  4. "Attempted to download GPG Keychain Access v0.8.10 from website". @blankgm: since this file was downloaded about 8.000 times I guess the issue lies on your site.

  @Alex thanks for digging deeper into this. Let's see if we can solve it.

  I can't recall any previous mentions of Thunderbird not being installed. Afaik, we don't provide Thunderbird at all but rather Enigmail the Thunderbird plug-in. Might we have a misunderstanding?

  About 2/3 I don't know. But if those are actual issues we should open a new ticket for each.

  Imo, this ticket is invalid. @Alex pls review and reopen if needed but I can see no problem that needs any action at the moment. If any of your points (1-4) should reoccur we should work with a separate ticket. And as Mento pointed out, if those are actual issues, we need more information to work on that.
