Ability to search for keys on multiple keyservers
Reported by hrumph | June 17th, 2016 @ 07:01 AM
I would like the ability to search for keys on multiple keyservers.
I currently have to a single keyserver to search, and if the key I'm searching for doesn't exist on it, I get zero results.
I would like the keyserver select widget to be a multiselect and be able to check/uncheck keyservers I would like to search/not search, and then I would like the "Lookup key" dialog in GPG Keychain to search all selected keyservers (and, obviously, not any of the unselected keyservers).
Details:
- GPGMail version 2.6b2
- GPG Keychain version 1.2.1
- GPGServices version 1.10.1
- MacGPG2 version 2.0.28
- GPGPreferences version 1.5
- OS X 10.11.4
- Late 2011 Macbook
I found this GPG
thread which indicated that GPG only uses the last keyserver
listed in gpg.conf
. If GPGTools is trying to keep
reverse compatibility with that, you could add a "Primary"
keyserver radio button, and when you write out
gpg.conf
, simply include that keyserver as the last
one in the list.
I'm happy to answer any questions or respond to any comments.
Thanks!

- State changed from new to wontfix
- Importance changed from to Low
We have since introduced the much more reliable hagrid key server keys.opengpg.org
Additionally GPG Keychain > Preferences > Key Server now has an option to allow a fallback search on sks if hagrid does not come up with any search result. Thus this item needs no further action. Closing as wontfix.
