Make search by fingerprints accept spaces

Reported by Brennan Novak | March 7th, 2015 @ 01:55 PM | in 1.2 (closed)

Currently performing a "Search for key..." operation using a PGP fingerprint such as:

05216F3B86848A303C2FE37DD166F1667359D880

Works just fine. However, if you paste in a fingerprint that has spaces in it such as:

0521 6F3B 8684 8A30 3C2F E37D D166 F166 7359 D880

The search returns zero results. I believe GPG Tools should parse out the spaces & line breaks as a lot of people display fingerprints on their sites and other places with spaces to make it easier to read. It's not at all intuitive to normal users to have to remove spaces from a string!

    Hey Brennan,

this should work fine using GPG Suite beta 5 from our webpage. Using the fingerprint with spaces I do find Nex' public key. If it does not work for you with the latest release of GPG Suite do let me know. In general it's best to go via support page and then we'll file a bug if the issue is confirmed.

Hope you are well and nice hearing from you,
    steve

Hey Steve. Thanks. I upgraded my install (still not on Yosemite yet), and the problems seems to have gone away. Thanks for responding ;)

Hope all is well with you all!
