add "?" info bubble to key creation dialogue, expiration date OR add warning message when users deselect key expiration
Reported by steve | August 6th, 2014 @ 01:27 AM | in 1.3 (closed)
add "?" info bubble for expiration date (users have no clue why a key should expire at all, or if they are able to set such a date at a later point in time or adjust the date etc pp).
OR
A better solution might be, to show an informative warning message when a user actually de-selects the key expiry option.
Warning: Do you really want to disable key expiry?
Disabling key expiry is not recommended. Having an expiry date for your key is an important safety net. In cases where there is no possibility to revoke your key, an expiry date is your last chance of getting a lost key to a state, indicating to your friends, that they should not be using that key.
If your key expires and you want to continue using it, the expire date can always be extended, even if your key expired.
Think again, do you want to disable this option?
