malloc error when entering ldap keyserver url

failed (error code=3)
*** error: can't allocate region *** set a breakpoint in
malloc_error_break to debug
Reproducible:
- open gka
- open key server settings
- enter e.g. ldap://keyserver.pgp.com
- wait
- gka puts out error msg about wrong keyserver and terminal spits above malloc info
