Reported by Alex (via GPGTools) | January 19th, 2011 @ 11:15 AM | in 0.8.13 (closed)

At least in my build the icon and the current keyserver is not shown in the preferences. See attachment.

That is, because we don't have an icon yet. I contacted Josef yesterday. We'll see how this turns out.

Or we could try to do one ourselves. I'd suggest using the globe from Safari>Settings>Bookmarks + the key from GPG Keychain (currently used for "New").

Yes, why not. Although the Apple HIG says: "Don’t reuse Mac OS X system icons in your interface; it can be confusing to users to see the same icon used to mean slightly different things in multiple locations."

The current key server is not shown in the preferences. Maybe s.th. like "default" or the real URL should be shown.

The keyserver is not shown, because you have not yet selected.

Correct, but GPG Keychain Access uses the one from gpg.conf. The empty box implies that no key server is configured/used.

    Keyserver icon is fixed.

The URL is NOT fixed. It is empty by default and that has a reason. Mento told me that GPGMail, GPG Keychain Access and GPG use three different conf/plist files where this is adjusted.

It would make sense to have a common conf or plist file for all shared settings. So we'd have one setting-file for all the settings that are used in all three programs.

This is in the making and needs some more time. And it is the reason why this should stay open. Maybe title should be adjusted?

Closing this. There is nothing to do about this atm. Icon is there. And the rest will be fixed when we adjust GKA to use libmacgpg.
