Code 0 & 17

I'm so sorry if this is a stupid question. Obviously I'm new to this, but I would really appreciate your help. I can't decrypt my messages (when I'm trying to get the hang of it in textedit). I know something went wrong though because I installed everything, generated new key, and when I finished the last enter passphrase part it said something about... I'm not sure but it had the word 'fail'. When I type something in textedit, I can encrypt it, but not decrypt it. Code 0 and 17 come up a lot.

Software name and version: GPG Keychain Access 1.0b7
OS X version: Mac 10.6.8
GPGTools Installer date:

What do you expect to see? What do you see instead?

I want to... figure this shit out
Instead ... I was following along with the GPGTools Screencast. I get tripped up at 50s (where I got a secret fail thing) and 2:11 (where it's code 17 I think)
Provide any additional information, link a screenshot and debug output if possible.
I made my first key, realized that I wanted a different email address to be the primary key so I just made another one. I'll send a screenshot of what I've got.

I'm sure this was a simple mistake on my part, but this is new to me and I've spent hours trying to figure out encrypting/decrypting (what software, most reliable, which directions to use, etc.) and I'm finally tired and wanna go to bed. If you could help me that's be super. Have a lovely day!

    Hi Meridith,

    no worries, let's find out what's wrong here.

    The first step you can do is to install the nightly build of GPGServices from http://nightly.gpgtools.org and check if the same error still happens once you try
    to decrypt.

    After that check your Console.app log for any entries
    from GPGServices and post them here (please remove any personal or sensitive information first).

    We'll get to the bottom of this.
