hang when trying to upload key UNIX error exception: 17

10.12.4 + 2017-05-10 GPG Suite 2017.1 (1855n)
Tried to upload a public key which does not exist on the key servers. Ran into hang, no progress dialog showed, beachball started showing right after pressing ⌘U.
console.app has the following detail:
