Key Send to Key Server Failed; Can't Share Key

Reported by Jennifer Hoffman | March 1st, 2012 @ 03:23 AM | in 1.0 (closed)

Please advise how I can share my key with those whom I wish to allow to deencrypt my messages. Also, will OS X Lion's mail client automatically encrypt the email that I sent to those with whom I have shared my key? Thanks so much!

Isn't this ticked covered by GPGTools ticket #87? The ticket probably fits better here (rather than the general GPGTools), but that ticket is a little more descriptive of what is actually happening. This is more of a question, and should probably be posted in the forum.

Or even better, read the "Getting Started" section of the GPG Keychain Access wiki under the heading "Working with Keys," (https://github.com/GPGTools/GPGKeychainAccess/wiki/Getting-started#...) specifically the questions "How do I import keys into GPG Keychain Access?" and "How do I export my public key?".

As for your second question, you should read the "Your first encrypted mail" tutorial (http://support.gpgtools.org/kb/how-to/your-first-encrypted-mail), which explains that you can only encrypt emails sent to people if you have their public key; sharing your key is done so that they can encrypt messages to you.
