diff: extra operand fails installations

The GPGMail installer fails with the following error message:
diff: extra operand fails installations
The reason might be the usage of wildcards in
sourcedir="${PACKAGE_PATH%//}/Resources"

Is the diff necessary? Why should the installation fail, if the diff fails?
