Installer fails

Reported by William Kirkham | March 1st, 2012 @ 06:21 PM | in 20120317 (closed)

I tried installing from the regular download and the nightly build. I get the same error either way:

    Hi Alex,

Mac OS X 10.7.3. My system is a little unusual but not outside of Apple standards. I have a 12 core system which boots up off a solid-state drive where all the system and applications reside, but the user home directories and all files relating to them are on a standard hard drive. That caused some issues with Dropbox and a couple of other programs that don't check the alias for the location of my home directory, but just assume it's on the boot drive.

No, other than the note about "An error occurred while running scripts from the package “CheckPrivateKey.pkg”. I'm not very familiar with reading unix scripts and install stuff tho.

I have attached a copy of the expanded log file you requested...

Thanks. Are you sure you're using the current installer from nightly.gpgtools.org? The issue is:

    /Volumes/Macintosh HD/Users/williamkirkham/.profile: line 5: /Volumes/Macintosh HD/Users/williamkirkham/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.0.x/etc/bashrc: No such file or directory

The current installer should have fixed this issue - maybe you have to reload the page before downloading?

AH! I tried to install a package called OpenFOAM a few days ago. The instructions that they provided included addition of that line to my .profile. OpenFOAM does not work as installed. But I guess this messed up the GPG install. Now it works. I did try both the nightly installer as well as the installer listed on the main page.

    Thanks for your help!
