show OS X notification when updates are available (instead of directly displaying the sparkle update dialog)
Reported by steve | July 7th, 2016 @ 12:25 PM | in 2018.2 (closed)
Now that 10.6 - 10.8 are EOL, the update check should show an OS X notification. The notification then behaves as defined by the user (slides away after a while or remains visible or only shows in OS X notification center).
A click on the notification then openes the sparkle update dialog.
A nice sideeffect of this is, that the user workflow is no longer disrupted and keyboard focus not stolen from any current work.
